Jamie started rugby first at the age of seven at Stoke RUFC following in the footsteps of his uncle, who played for the senior side.

Jamie progressed all the way through the junior set-up and made his first team debut aged 17.

He also started to play cricket around the age of nine at Wood Lane – a club stone’s throw away from where his parents live and one that had a fantastic junior set up.

Jamie played for Wood Lane the year they won the North Staffs and South Cheshire Premier Division in 2011.

In rugby, Jamie has been lucky enough to play in Australia and the US, featuring for Austin Blacks – one of the best teams in the States.

Speaking on why he decided to launch the Staffordshire Sport Podcast, Jamie said:

“I initially set up the podcast as I don’t think local sport here gets the coverage it deserves.

“We’ve got fantastic sports people and great athletes who devote a lot of time to their sport and I wanted to highlight and recognise this.

“The ambition at the moment is to provide good content that people want to listen to and for something sports people in Staffordshire to take pride in.”
