Lichfield lose second game of season, vital walkover win for Uttoxeter

Lichfield Rugby Club were subjected to just their second loss of the season on Saturday, albeit still lead Midlands Division 1 West by some distance.

The visitors went down 13-10 to fourth-place Ludlow but stay 12 points ahead of Kenilworth in second having played two games more.

Meanwhile, Uttoxeter were handed a walkover win against Old Saltleians in Division 2 West North.

Their third win of the campaign boosts their chances of survival.

It is the second time they’ve been given a victory without having to step on the pitch.

Stafford are in fourth after a heavy 36-0 defeat to Moseley Oak while Newcastle lost 31-17 to Camp Hill.

Tamworth swept aside strugglers Stourbridge Lions 43-12.

Eccleshall remain on a single point after a 34-19 loss to Burntowwod in Division 3 West North.

Rugeley suffered a blow in Division 4 West North, going down 22-19 to Willenhall. It means they are some 12 points off third place.

Finally, Trentham thrashed Essington 67-5 in a near-whitewash.
