Uttoxeter claim long-awaited win, Tonks nets winner for Stafford Rangers

Uttoxeter Town won their first game in five Midland Football League Premier Division outings on Tuesday night.

The visitors defeated Lye Town 2-0 thanks to goals from Paul Hughes and Ethan Bloor Jones having failed to score in the last four matches.

Meanwhile, league rivals Stone Old Alleynians ran out 1-0 victors over Racing Club Warwick to also earn their first win in five.

Sam Wilson netted the only goal of the game on 75 minutes to see his side 12th in the table.

Lichfield City slipped to third following a 4-1 home defeat to Whitchurch Alport on Wednesday evening.

Kyle Patterson scored their sole goal while Alex Hughes netted all four for the away team.

Elsewhere, a first-half Tom Tonks strike was enough to see Stafford Rangers past Radcliffe 1-0.

The club are now eighth in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Finally, Hednesford Town exited the Birmingham Senior Cup following a 3-0 defeat to Stourbridge.
