Lichfield Rugby Club have risen to the top of the Midlands 1 West table after an impressive win away from home.
The league-leaders defeated Whitchurch 38-31 to claim their sixth win in as many matches.
Lichfield have picked up six bonus points in those games – two more than Staffordshire rivals Stoke.
It means they head the table by two points despite Stoke winning all six of their opening games too.
Meanwhile, Leek are second in Midlands 2 West (North) after a comprehensive 41-29 victory over Camp Hill.
They have won all three of their fixtures this season and are only kept off top spot by Walsall on points-scored difference.
In the same division, Newcastle defeated Old Saltleians 31-17 to pick up their first win of the season. They now sit seventh on six points.
Finally, St Leonards fell to a heavy 53-7 loss to Bishops Castle & Onny Valley.
They have conceded 114 points in the two games they have played this term.
In reply, they have only scored 21 points in those matches and as a result have the worst points-scored difference in the division (-93).
These defeats came after they were handed a walkover win earlier in the season.
