Lichfield City have gone top of the Midland Football League Premier Division after a convincing 4-0 win over Tividale.
Jack Edwards grabbed a first-half brace before Max Dixon and Dan Lomas both got on the scoresheet for the hosts.
Lichfield sit top of the tree having yet to be beaten in their opening nine league matches (won six, drawn three).
Hanley Town are a point behind Lichfield them in second having played a game fewer.
They too maintained their unbeaten league record by securing a 2-1 win away at Walsall Wood.
Kyle Stubbs headed in the winner on 88 minutes after Ryan Campbell-Gordon cancelled out Walsall’s second-minute opener shortly after half-time.
Stone Old Alleynians defeated Shifnal Town in the same division. Dave Ablewhite fired home a first-minute penalty after Sam Wilson was brought down in the box.
Wilson then got on the scoresheet himself on the half-hour mark.
Meanwhile, Uttoxeter Town defeated Stourport Swifts 3-1 away from home.
In Division 1, Stapenhill are second after a 3-1 win against Bliston Town.
The ever-present Oli Roome opened the scoring on 11 minutes before Connor Richins made it 2-0 on 39 minutes.
Bliston hit back less than 60 seconds later. But another from Richins in stoppage time at the end of the game made the points safe for the Swans.
Heavy defeat for Abbey Hulton
Abbey Hulton United fell to a humbling 8-3 defeat to FC Isle of Man in the North West Counties Football League First Division South.
Sean Doyle netted an incredible six goals for the visitors after Jamie Turner opened the scoring on 14 minutes for Abbey Hulton.
Fitzroy Butler managed to bag a double but it will nevertheless be a result the club will want to forget quickly.
It was a better Saturday for Stafford Town who beat Stockport Town 1-0 thanks to a 55th-minute Harry Bowers penalty.
Eccleshall are second-bottom of the table after a 4-0 loss to Maine Road while Brocton were defeated 2-0 by New Mills.
Good wins for Chasetown and Leek
Chasetown are second in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division after Aaron Ashford’s strike gave them a 1-0 win over Histon.
In the West Division, Leek Town – who officially completed the installation of their new artificial pitch this week – are sixth after beating Widnes 2-1.
Daniel Trickett-Smith and Tim Grice both notched to see them to the victory.
Newcastle Town drew 1-1 with Workington thanks to Jack van der Laan’s 34th-minute penalty while Kidsgrove Athletic lost 3-1 away at Warrington Rylands.
Elsewhere, Stafford Rangers drew 0-0 with Gainsborough Trinity in the Premier Division.
Hednesford Town are up to fifth in the Southern League Central due to a 2-2 draw with Redditch United, albeit will feel they should have come away with more.
Andre Landell saw his 74th-minute penalty saved at 2-1 up after goals from Andrew Brown and Todd Parker.
The visitors went on to net seven minutes from time to steal a point.
They are now a point ahead of rivals Tamworth – who earned an FA Cup replay with Notts County on Saturday – albeit have played three matches more.
Finally, in the Birmingham FA Vase, a Louis Bridges hat-trick along with goals from Joseph Smith and Daniel Wain saw Coton Green to a 5-0 triumph over WLV Sport.
Meanwhile, Bolehall Swifts lost 2-0 to FC Darlaston.
